The Adair County Sheriff's Office does not expose a 72-hour release page, current detainee roster, or public release archive in its official navigation. No rolling-window rules, update cadence, historical display period, or booking-photo column has been published. A private listing cannot be treated as the missing county feed, and a roster for a different Adair County must not be substituted for Missouri records.
Use the three-day window as a records-request boundary. Give the custodian exact dates and times rather than asking who “got out recently.” Specify whether the list should include transfers. These are requested concepts, not guaranteed open fields. Juvenile identifiers, victim data, investigative material, safety-sensitive details, and other closed content may be redacted. Missouri law requires the custodian to separate exempt material and provide the open portion when possible.
Adair Weekend Release Checks
A three-day range is useful on Monday because it can include Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday processing. It also helps after a county holiday, when the detention operation continues but administrative records staff are not working regular counter hours. The control room operates as a custody function, while the sheriff's administrative and records window is published as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding county holidays.
This difference affects when a request is routed or produced. It does not alter the release event itself. A person may leave custody while the records office is closed, and a court or MOVANS entry may post on a different schedule. Ask for a date-and-time-bounded sheriff event rather than inferring the answer from the hour when a web page changed.
Missouri's response rule requires the office to act on a records request by the end of the third business day. That is not a guarantee of production within 72 clock hours. If reasonable search, review, or redaction needs more time, the coordinator should give the reason and earliest availability date.
Court timing can differ as well. A judge's bond or release order may appear before the jail completes identity checks, property return, paperwork, and any hold review. Conversely, a weekend custody event may precede a public docket update. Read the sheriff time and court order together.

The county form lists fees for records, pages beyond its base amount, extended search time, media, postage, and technical work. Current pricing should be confirmed before submission. Adair Release Versus Transfer
The legal meaning of the event shapes the next check. Bond or recognizance returns a person to the community while the case continues. Time served or sentence completion ends local confinement, but the court record remains. Dismissal may remove the basis for one booking, though a separate hold can keep the person in custody. A transfer ends the Adair booking and starts or continues custody elsewhere.

MOVANS can add a custody-change clue, but it is not the sole proof. Match the identity and facility, then confirm the event with the sheriff, court, or receiving custodian.
A sex-offender registry result has an even narrower role. It applies only to people with a legal registration duty. A registry status can provide a later location clue, but it is not a general Adair County release list and cannot establish when three-day processing ended.
Adair Three-Day Record Retention
The Missouri Secretary of State sheriff schedule requires inmate files in series SHF 013 to be retained for at least five years after release. The description includes admission and release dates, reasons for confinement, property receipts, and transfer information. General jail activity logs in SHF 012 also have a five-year minimum.
That retention rule is not a 72-hour online display promise. It does not require a public website or force staff to create a new report. It does support a request for the retained underlying record after a weekend window has passed. Ask for the existing file, seek the segregated open portion if redactions apply, and preserve the response date with any copy received.
